Career change: I’m now a full-time blogger

I’m crazy, I’m passionate, I’m excited, and so much more! I just quit my job to start blogging full-time!

There have been a lot of things rocking the boat recently and the one thing I always come back to is the blogging world. You might have noticed a bit of hiatus in the winter/spring this year, and that was pretty much unavoidable, but as of July 1 and after almost 4 years of A Wanderlust For Life being my baby, it’s time to make the commitment to it that it deserves…and that I deserve.

Wanting to travel is part of me. It’s a trait I got from my grandparents that I’m honored to have handed down to me. My heritage is also western European which might be why I’m drawn to Europe, specifically. Whatever the reason, I know how fortunate I am to be able to do this. Not everyone has the opportunity to travel, but I hope that through my words and photos, maybe you’ll be able to enjoy the journey with me.

Being a goof

I need human connection. A sense of community is how most of us get by from day to day. I miss the community I had in Virginia but have built a new one in Amsterdam, with travel bloggers, and with the lovely people I connect with online thanks to this blog. I am so grateful for that!

What does this all mean for me and for A Wanderlust For Life?

For July, it’s going to be a lot of content creation. My backlog is huge! Blog posts and videos will be coming out more regularly and I hope you’re able to keep up 😉 I’ll also get back to having a newsletter once a month, so definitely sign up to follow along on this new career and also our travels.

I’m excited to share more content, more personal stuff, more showcasing of places, experiences, services, and products that will make your life more fun or just better in some way. I want A Wanderlust For Life to be your European travel resource and your favorite expat blog.

While this will definitely be an exciting journey, it’s important to me to always add value for you! So, please feel free to share (now or anytime) what you want to see from me and this blog. The challenge of uncovering needs, discovering awesome places and things to do, and having to get creative is going to be great.

It’s a new energy with a renewed passion.

  2. My sister and I will be in Amsterdam at the end of July. My nephew Jonathan Huffman and his wife Whitney suggested we contact you to see if we could get some advice. We will be at the Hotel Rokin. We would live to meet you if possible. Gail Hacker
