Fall in (love with) Tuscany | A Wanderlust For Life with KM Zero Tours 2021 Small Group Tour

Come travel with us and experience the Tuscan trip of your dreams!

It’s true! We are creating our very first group trip and I couldn’t be more excited to share it with you.

View of Tuscany

After our incredible trip to Tuscany with KM Zero Tours where we explored Chianti and had a cooking class with a kitchen that had the best view in the world, spent a day exploring Brunello wineries, and learned what farm-to-table really means while playing with adorable baby goats, we knew we wanted to share a similar experience with you.

That’s why we are offering this special tour called Fall in (love with) Tuscany. There are just 12 spots available to join us, so please use the contact form at the bottom of the page so we can get you all set up! It will include our favorite activities plus more experiences featuring the culture of Tuscany while still keeping with the foodie trip of a lifetime vibe 😉

For a peek at some of the activities, check out our videos on YouTube!

The reason this is super special is because it’s not just a tour, it’s a true experience. It’s about the local producers, seeing the grapes, meeting the person who presses the olive oil, witnessing Tuscan sunsets, and sharing laughs with the people that make Tuscany what it really is.

Are you ready for the full itinerary?! I hope so because I’m bursting just waiting to tell you!!!

This is the perfect time for check-in at the farmhouse, and we’ll have time for relaxation and to enjoy the surroundings.

In the afternoon, we will have a fun and delicious class with the legendary baker, Beppe, where we will learn the art of making delicious bread, focaccia, and pizza. Beppe “Il Panaio” is our trusted baker and bread expert; together with him, you will first learn about the different kinds of flours and the characteristics of ancient grains. You will then enjoy a bread making demonstration, where you will get to see how delicious bread, pizza and focaccia are made.

Welcome dinner at the farmhouse is a pizza party!

• Day 2 •

Our journey will begin with a unique truffle hunting experience in the forest with trained dogs and with an experienced local truffle hunter. He’ll tell you interesting legends and curiosities about this precious gift of nature. The experience will start in the fields and will end up in their kitchen, understanding all the secrets and best culinary recipes with fresh truffles.

After lunch we will enjoy a relaxing walk in the medieval village of San Gimignano. This magical location is famous for its array of medieval towers that can be seen from miles away. We will enjoy a stroll through the traditional shops and streets, and will also visit an interesting silver workshop there where Matteo, a young and talented silversmith, will show you how he can transform shapeless silver into marvelous objects.

We end the day with dinner at the favorite trattoria of Arianna and Alessio in Chianti and we’ll try the BEST homemade pasta you’ve ever had!

• Day 3 •

We begin our day with a visit to the stunning Abbey of Sant’Antimo — an ancient abbey that has been inhabited by Benedictine monks for centuries. The church that you see now was built in the early 12th century but the abbey’s origins actually stretch back much further in time. This is a unique spiritual and cultural experience!

Later, we will visit a family-owned Brunello di Montalcino wine producer — the most prestigious and well-known wine of Tuscany. We take a guided tour of the vineyards and of the little cellar, getting beautiful insights and tasting the beautiful wines. We will then enjoy a delicious panoramic lunch at the winery with homemade recipes traditional to the area.

After lunch we head to Montepulciano, enjoying a tour of the town with a visit to the incredible underground cellars with a tasting of the Vino Nobile.

Late afternoon is time for relaxation at the farmhouse, dinner at the farmhouse.

• Day 4 •

We will begin our day with a visit to a unique crystal workshop, seeing how a talented artist shapes marvelous pure crystal in front of our astonished eyes.

We will then visit an amazing goat cheese farm in Chianti. First, we have to visit the stable watching the baby goats play hide and seek with one another. It’s too cute to miss! We will then visit the dairy and enjoy a unique & fun cheese-making workshop & demonstration. This is a hands-on learning experience on how to make fresh and delicious cheese! Of course, that means we’ll have a delicious cheese tasting and cheese-themed lunch with homemade specialties paired with locally made wine.

After lunch we will be treated to a relaxing walk in the medieval village of Monteriggioni, learning fascinating stories about our land.

For the evening, we can relax at the farmhouse because we’ll also have a delicious dinner at the farmhouse.

• Day 5 •

Our journey will begin with a visit to a wonderful pecorino cheese farm in Chianti run by the fun and dynamic duo of Ada and Sandra, two wonderful sisters who have been making delicious pecorino cheese for many generations. We’ll visit the stable to see the goats and learn more about how they are raised, and then we’ll follow that up with tasting the farm-fresh cheese and enjoying a farm-fresh lunch with local favorites and local wine.

Afterwards, we will experience a gentle, playful and picturesque walk through the vineyards and olive groves with our guide Beppe. On the way, we will enjoy a refreshing “aperitivo” picnic in the vineyard, enjoying local snacks in the fields as we toast the beautiful vista with a good glass of wine. During this small hike, we will be able to discover our Tuscan land from another perspective, slowing down and learning fascinating stories along the way.

The day will end with dinner out while we sample delicious recipes from the area.

• Day 6 •

We will begin our day with a fun and delicious traditional Tuscan cooking class with the legendary chef Giuseppina, a wonderful 100% Tuscan woman who runs cooking classes in her lovely culinary studio in Certaldo for more than 15 years. You will learn how to cook a complete meal from antipasto to dolce, enjoying all your creations in a true lunch feast.

After lunch we will enjoy a lovely walk in the Medieval castle of Certaldo while listening to beautiful stories and legends, then we’ll visit a lovely pottery shop there.

We will then head to the stunning town of Siena to enjoy a real espresso in the stunning Piazza del Campo and have a tasting of the “Senesi” delicious traditional sweets of this town. We will also have the possibility to admire the majestic beauty of the Duomo and learn stories about the famous Palio, a charming tradition from Siena that goes back to the Middle Ages.

For dinner, we’ll dine at the farmhouse for an evening of relaxation.

• Day 7 •

The day will start with a visit to a family-owned artisanal pasta workshop to see how they create the special pastas famous in the area.

Next up is a late-morning visit to a unique olive farm run by a wonderful family committed to producing high-quality olive oil in Chianti. We will first learn everything you wanted to know about olive oil production and then we will then enjoy a fabulous lunch, sampling delicious specialties all paired with olive oil. This place has an unforgettable view that your jaw might actually drop when you see it. We’ll also enjoy time with this lovely family and try the real and famous Bistecca alla Fiorentina (a must-try of the Tuscan cuisine!) and lots of other Tuscan specialties.

After our bellies are full, we’ll visit the lovely village of Greve in Chianti, with time for relaxation and to enjoy the lovely square. Spot the giant rooster!

Later, we will visit a real oil mill (frantoio) during the harvest time, where we will have the opportunity to understand all phases and all secrets of producing high-quality extra virgin olive oil and to taste the fresh, green and peppery new olive oil. We will get involved in the magic atmosphere you can feel during this particular time of the year, and be infected by the excitement of the old farmers who are waiting for the new olive oil to come out from the tank and to finally taste the olio nuovo. This is a unique event we get to celebrate together.

For the late afternoon and evening, it’s time for relaxation at home, and for our farewell dinner we will have a real culinary feast: the incredible “Polenta All’Abruzzese” party! This is a huge polenta served on the table and topped with incredible ragù sauce and parmigiano Reggiano…the best!! Is your mouth watering, yet?
