You may have noticed the lack of posts on this website. There’s a good reason for that…we were planning our move to Amsterdam in the Netherlands! So, this is still a travel blog but it will focus on Amsterdam for a bit until we start our travels around Europe. We are trying to live like locals, but I’m sure some touristy stuff will pop up as well. One thing I can tell you, is that there will be posts on festivals, markets, and food.

So, why are we in Amsterdam? We are trying out the expat life here for a few reasons. The culture of acceptance, tolerance, lack of violent crime, and healthy living was very appealing to us. We visited in June 2013 for one week and although we only got a taste of life here, we loved it. Also, there are many opportunities for work that Sean does, so that’s a big factor…have to make that moo-la! It’s also a beautiful city with a lot to do, see, and eat. I’m impatient when it comes to things like this since I want to see, do, and eat it all within a month, but we will take our time.
